About

The Chompers (formerly JJ Shreds and The Chompers) are a psychedelic funk band project from Jeremy Joyce originated during the Covid Pandemic. The Chompers started playing in back yards and house parties and went on to play local venues in New Orleans. The band records instrumentals and vocal songs, sometimes featuring guest vocalists such as Jillian Goods from the J. Goods Experience. The band leans heavily on the New Orleans funk groove and Jeremy’s interest in psychedelic rock from the 70s such as Argentina’s Aquelarre.


Be Good To Each Other - 2021
In 2021 The Chompers recorded and released four songs: two vocal and two instrumental earning a write up in local mag OffBeat


Whipping Post - 2024
Post Jazz Fest 2024, after several fun and successful gigs with vocalist Jillian Goods, The Chompers went into The Palace to record a live version of Allman Brothers’ Whipping Post with The J. Goods Experience.
